Service Area

Landscaping in Coronado.

A decade of work on the island. We know your block, your microclimate, and what survives a January storm here.

About this area

Why Coronado is its own job.

Coronado is where Ecosystem started, and where the bulk of our maintenance accounts live. We've been tending some of these yards every other Wednesday for years.

The island is a real microclimate. Salt-air on the bayside, tighter morning fog on the ocean side, sandy fast-draining soil almost everywhere. What works on Ocean Boulevard doesn't necessarily work on First Street, and the plant palette has to know the difference.

We service Coronado Village, Coronado Cays, Coronado Shores, and Imperial Beach-adjacent. Most of our weekly schedule is built around Coronado routes — if you're on the island, we can almost always slot you in.

What Coronado landscaping actually means on this island

Coronado landscaping has to handle salt air off the bay, design-review board plant palettes, and lots that haven't changed footprint since the 1920s. We design and maintain yards across the village, Ocean Blvd, 1st St, and the B Ave through J Ave grid. Owner-led, hand-tended, and walked every visit by Sam.

The microclimate we plan around

Salt air corrodes irrigation fittings faster here than five miles inland. Sod on the bay side stresses through the August afternoon glare off the water. We swap in salt-tolerant turf varieties and stainless or brass fittings on irrigation runs west of Orange Ave.

Where we've worked on the island

100 I Ave. 409 and 420 1st St. 545 and 667 Ocean Blvd. 609 1st St on the bayfront. 641 Balboa, 653 B Ave, 745 J Ave, 753 C Ave. Crown-jewel beds on Ocean Blvd and 1st St face full afternoon sun off the water — those get a different plant palette than the shaded B Ave courtyards two blocks inland.

HOA and design-review board work

The Coronado design review boards have hedge-height and palette expectations. We've submitted enough plans to know what gets approved on the first pass and what gets sent back. If your block has a covenant, send it over with your photos and we'll factor it into the drawing.

Services we run on Coronado properties

How a Coronado job starts

Sam walks the property. Measures. Draws on a clipboard. Talks through what the lot wants and what the board will sign off on. We send a written plan, not a brochure. Most Coronado homeowners find us because they watched us tend somebody else's yard on the block for a few seasons. That's the work we want to keep doing.
